Technology Taking a Hold |
My position on my topic did change. In blog post one I
proposed a lot of questions about the integration and the gains of losses in
integrating it into the classroom. My
research findings made me realize how technology in the recent future years is
going to be the main source of learning. There are a lot of new technology
ideas and devices that are coming to the surface but only some classrooms are
going to be able to flourish in this opportunity. It is not fair that some schools
are going to receive the advances of technology while others are far behind. This
is going to create a bigger gap between the future generation people.
Technology is creating an environment where the basis of every task requires some
use of technology. Technology integration's goal is to expand the children’s
mind in an efficient, effective way. I believe that this can be done
effectively without technology as we are becoming dependent on technology teaching
our younger generations to settle for less than personal interaction.
It will affect my future teaching endeavors as I am learning
it is going to be difficult to go against the new strain of wiring technology
into the daily education system. I see the benefits of technology and
communicating with outside sources. But what do we want to be teaching
children? To advance with something man made because we have that ability? It
is making us more infatuated with material items which are something I do not
want to be a part of. Yes, technology is going to work out the mind more
efficiently than a teacher but that is just because of where our society has
decided to head. We are making technology more advanced in ways that may not be
necessary. A lot of the communication done between the student and the teacher
will be technology based, if it is done through technology or if the questions
are about the tasks being asked with the technology. The personal interaction
between the student and teacher is not as personable when the constant talk is
not on a relative level about the person; it is instead about a device. My question is still remaining about the true
deep benefit of technology in the classroom. It is very understandable to use it
for basic needs when communicating with the parents and making things more
efficient in that way. I disagree with the degree the educational system is
deciding to take in the use of technology.
